Thirteen families founded Church of the Hills in 1985, having been planted by Hope Chapel of Austin. Meeting in temporary locations until securing a more permanent home, the church grew to several hundred.

Church of the Hills has since planted two other churches locally, one church in Latvia, and assisted many other churches in their beginning stages in the Austin area. Giving away the best God has given us in order to see God’s Kingdom extended into the community and into the world has been a high priority.



Now located in its permanent facility, the church is debt free. Conducting ministry, expanding facilities, and doing business free of debt remains a high value of the church.

Church of the Hills has always had a strong commitment to help its people take God’s life outside the walls of the church and into the community. That is accomplished through church initiatives in the community as well as equipping each individual to take God’s life into his or her world.
