Some of our missionaries are serving in countries
that prevent us from posting their biography on our website.

Patti
set out on her first missionary journey to Kenya,
East Africa, in January of 1978 under the leadership
of Charles and Marquita Patterson. At the time, Charles
was the Missions Pastor in her home church, Trinity
Church, in Lubbock, Texas.
After her first missions experience, Patti knew she
was called to life-long missionary service. In 1981
she linked arms with Youth With A Mission and has
served in Europe and Asia, (and everywhere between)
in the areas of evangelism, leadership training,
and church planting.
In 1988 and 1989, due to severe health issues, Patti
was forced to take an extended break from the foreign
mission field. Patti joined her parents to live in
Austin and became an active part of the COTH body
as she simultaneously sought to recover her health.
In 1990, Patti returned to work with Youth With A
Mission internationally in Asia and Europe to develop
their international training network. Patti relocated
to Cape Town, South Africa, in January 2003, to continue
her ministry through YWAM's International Centre
for Discipleship Training Schools (DTS). The DTS
Centre has been established to maintain and enhance
excellence in YWAM's 300+ Discipleship Training Schools
worldwide. |
Joy has been a member of COTH since 1996. During the summer of 1997 while worshipping,
the Lord spoke to her in a very profound way about missions. Joy joined with YWAM-Tulsa
in June 2007, and has served with YWAM since 1999. After completing the Crossroads
Discipleship Training School in Wiler, Switzerland, the Lord led her step-by-step
through a series of seven YWAM training schools in Scotland, Switzerland, Jordan,
Virginia and most recently in Texas, where she served on staff with YWAM-Tyler for
four years.
The Lord spoke to Joy in a profound way in 2001 about ministering to His Chosen People.
This led her to complete a School of Jewish Studies in 2002 in Richmond, Virginia,
staff a Messianic DTS, and make three trips to Israel. Since her first trip to the
Middle East was to both Jordan and Israel, she has definitely had a heart for both
Jews and Muslims, desiring to be a minister of reconciliation. |
Charlie
and Nancy Nash came to Church of the Hills in January
of 1986, six months after the church was started. They
have been active members giving leadership to small
groups, various classes, and prayer. For the last several
years they led a small group that prayed for our COTH
missionaries. Their love for missions and missionaries
opened up the door for ministry at Mercy Ships where
Charlie took a group of men from COTH to do a construction
job for them. It was at the completion of this project
that God spoke to them about joining Mercy Ships full time.
They completed their training in the Gateway Program and
are currently serving with the International Office for
Mercy Ships located in Garden Valley, Texas. Charlie will
be working with Mercy Teams taking groups into various
countries doing construction projects for the poorest of
the poor and Nancy will be working with Mercy Ships training
school called Gateway. |
Matthew grew up in Austin and his family joined COTH soon after the church began.
After graduating from college, Matthew went to Japan to
attend a Discipleship Training School with YWAM. There he
met his wife Christine. They were married in 2002.
Matthew has worked with Mercy Ships, Fort Worth Harvest, and
YWAM Tyler. He is currently working with Mercy Ships as a
Programs Assessment Team member. He helps lead the direction
of research before, during, and after an outreach in order to
improve Mercy Ships in all that it does.

co-founded PrayerFields, a ministry committed to help
Christians identify their field and how to pray effectively
in it. The prophetic anointing of God allows Vicky to provide
encouraging ministry to cities, churches, leaders, and
individuals locally and around the world. In 2006, John and
